Manuscripts submitted to Research in Oncology should not be published or considered for publication elsewhere. Previous publication of an abstract of no more than 300 words is allowed.

Article types

Research in Oncology publishes the following article types:

-  Original article: reporting original research in all fields of oncology. Maximum of 3000 words (excluding title page, abstract, tables, figures, and references).

- Review: maximum of 4000 words.

- Short communication: reporting research that can be communicated effectively with no more than 1500 words and no more than three tables and/or figures.

-  Case report: maximum 1500 words.

-  Letter: maximum 750 words.

Manuscript preparation

Title page 

The title page should include the following in order:

  • Title of the manuscript
  • Full authors’ names
  • Authors’ affiliations
  • Corresponding author’s contact details (address, telephone and email)
  • Acknowledgment
  • Data availability statement
  • Funding
  • Study registration

Abstract

Original articles, review articles and short communication should be associated with a structured abstract of no more than 250 words with the following subheadings: Background, Aim, Methods, Results and Conclusion.

Case reports should be associated with a structured abstract of no more than 150 words with the following subheadings: Introduction, Case presentation, Discussion.

Main text

In Word format, font size 12 and double spaced.

Divided into: introduction, methods, results, discussion and conclusion.

Tables and figures should be cited in the main text appropriately.

Tables

Each table should be uploaded as a separate file.

Tables are numbered and uploaded according to the order of their citation in the manuscript.

File format: Word.

Figures

Each figure should be uploaded as a separate file.

Figures are numbered and uploaded according to the order of their citation in the main text.

Figure legends should be provided in the manuscript main file.

Preferred file formats: TIFF, PNG, JPEG.

The file size of each figure should not exceed 10 MB.

References

References are numbered sequentially according to their appearance in the manuscript. Use superscript Arabic numerals to cite references in the text.

List all authors for references with six authors or less and list the first three authors followed by et al. for references with more than six authors.

Using the online submission system

Manuscripts are submitted to Research in Oncology only through the online submission system at this link: https://resoncol.journals.ekb.eg/contacts?_action=loginForm.

New users are asked to register first. After registration, users are requested to log in as authors and start the submission process.

Publication fees

After the preliminary scientific acceptance of manuscripts, the authors should pay the full publication fees to receive an official acceptance letter and to start the publication process. There are no fees for the peer review process.

Research in Oncology encourages authors to make the individual de-identified participant data related to their submitted work publicly available in an appropriate repository. All submissions to Research in Oncology should include a “data sharing statement”. Authors who opt not to share publicly the individual de-identified participant data should clarify in their statement how data may be accessed upon reasonable request. Submissions without access to data will not be considered for publication in Research in Oncology."
